And individual medals for Daniel McIntyre GOLD U13 boys and Tendai Nyabadza BRONZE U17 men. Well done all! Results can be found here: Results

British Cross Liverpool 27th November 2021

We took 5 U17 men down to their first trip to the British Cross Challenge in Liverpool at the weekend. It was a good experience for the boys and everyone had a good time despite Storm Arwen trying it's best to disrupt the trip. Our highest finisher was Tendai in 15th place followed by Ethan and Archie. There was a large Scottish contingent and it was great to see our former coach Jamie Crowe placing third in the men's race, booking his spot at the Euro xc. Results can be found here: Results

Success at Lindsays Scottish Athletics Short Course Cross Country Championships

Our U17 men came away with the top spot at the Short Course Champs on Saturday 6th November winning gold after a hard fought race with Tendai Nyabadza taking an individual silver medal too. It was a great team performance and our first xc series Gold team medal following on from a bronze in 2019. It was typical cross country weather - cold, wet, windy but that didn't deter 25 Harmeny members joining Olympians Laura Muir, Jake Wightman and Andy Butchart on the start line. East District Relays, Galashiels

It was a brilliant return to xc racing on Saturday after many, many months away from the mud. First up racing for Harmeny were the junior boys. An exciting race right to the line saw Alastair, Matthew and Daniel take top stop and win the East District Quoich. Our other teams came in 4th, 12th and 19th places. Then came the senior woman - we had 3 teams racing over 4k. Thankfully the rain had stopped by then and everyone had a smile on their face when they finished! One mens team ended what was a great day out. Well done to everyone who raced on the day. Results are here : 11894-2021 EDXCR Results-combinedPROV (2)

Virgin London Marathon

Yesterday started quite early as I was staying with my brother-in-law just north of London. A 05:55 alarm call was required for me to be able to prepare and eat my requisite large bowl of porridge before catching the 06:52 train down to King's Cross. From there I joined the hordes of runners making their way down to London Bridge for the train down to the Blue start point in Greenwich Park. I wasn't due to start till 10:00 so this gave me plenty of time to take in some more pre-race nourishment, warm up and take in the atmosphere. I was off with Blue Wave 6, crossing the start line at 10:03 along a surprisingly interesting route south of the river, through Greenwich, past the Cutty Sark, through Bermondsey & Rotherhithe and then hitting Tower Bridge at 12.5 miles. I was running surprisingly well

Honorary Life Membership Awarded to Craig Stewart

Announcement on behalf of the Board of Trustees of Harmeny AC None of us could have envisaged what an impact the Pandemic would have on all our lives and the inevitable disruption this has meant for our organised club activities and social events. Thankfully we have built up a strong group of coaches and volunteers who have worked hard to remain connected with the membership. From remote coaching to organising virtual events, quizzes and local cross-country events over the winter for our young athletes. All this against a continually changing backdrop of Covid related restrictions and guidance. Emerging from lockdown has also created a variety of challenges for our coaches. New regulations, procedures, heavily restrictive and difficult to interpret at times have meant quickly adapting to new ways of delivering organised sessions and events. The board would like to extend their gratitude to all our
