Amazing results from the Junior sections annual Water of Leith mini Marathon this year with no fewer than 5 boys beating the previous all-time best time and new records being set for Under 11, 13, 15 and 17 boys – all in the Monday night race. The pride of place goes to Finlay Ross (U11) who recorded a time of 15:45 for the 4.2km course, followed closely by Kai Horsburgh (U17) 16:02, Joe Mooney (U15) 16:33, Duncan Cameron (U17) 17:00, and Cameron Fraser (U15) 17:11 who also went on to win the Wednesday night race in 16:58.
Liona Byers followed up her impressive high jump performance by being first girl home (U13) in a time of 20:34 on Monday while Jenna Robinson won the girls race on Wednesday.
A total of 32 athletes ran on Monday, and 17 on Wednesday and I think every single one finished with a smile. Fantastic effort, I hope you all enjoyed getting your medals.
