A beautiful sunny day provided the backdrop for the annual Harmeny AC v CAAC cross country match. 61 young athletes turned out to contest the trophy which had been won by Corstorphine at the 3 previous meetings.
We were delighted to welcome so many new runners to the event, the new sessions are clearly a great success with 35 entrants for the under 11’s race. It was great to see everyone enjoy themselves and there was even some sibling rivalry with Sebastian beating his older sister Stella!
To cap off the day the individual trophies were presented by local MP Joanna Cherry. She was present for all the races and was very impressed with all the performances.
And the news you’ve all been waiting for… YES Harmeny did come away with the overall trophy. Well done everyone.
This event marks the start of the XC season for Harmeny AC with the first East District League match taking place in Stirling on the 15 October. We hope to see as many athletes taking part as possible. See you in Stirling!
