The red and green tops from Harmeny were out in force at the London Marathon last weekend. 9 Harmeny runners took part while many other members eagerly tracked their progress on the online tracking system.
Ross Millar was first to cross the finish line, missing a PB by only 1 min 20 seconds. He then rushed back along the course to support his wife Michelle who was taking part in her debut marathon. Their race reports can be viewed here on the website. Sandra Beattie had an amazing run and managed a PB by 10 minutes! Kirsty Stoddart made a fantastic comeback to running in her first marathon since 2013 and Nicola Freedman was back for another marathon after completing Boston the week before! Also taking part was Karen Davidson, Craig Stewart, Adrian White, Raymond Keith, Carol Fortune and Keith Martin. Finally Raymond decided fame was best achieved with a Royal High Five. Well done all!
London was not the only race on that day! – Phil Buckley took part in the Blackpool marathon. An amazing achievement considering his recent races – The John Muir Ultra followed by Kielder Ultra then Boston (UK) marathon – all in the space of a month!
Congratulations also to Carol Blamire, first female vet at Run Balmoral 15 mile trail race which was also on the 23 April 2017.
Closer to home was the Edinburgh 10-mile race. Ann Laidlaw has written a race report with a fantastic finish line photo of her and the Friday morning group highlighting the ethos of Harmony. Taking part alongside Ann were Eve Atkinson Worden, Gail Bruce, Shirley Rutherford, May Sharp, Hellen Tollitt, Gail Peterson, Graham Harper, Tracy Manson, Christina Moorhouse, Gillian Page, Frances Turnball and Barry Messenger. Well done to Patricia Hampton for winning her age category :)
