Introductory Sessions
We welcome athletes aged 7 and up, from complete beginners to experienced competitors. Training sessions take place at Saughton Track on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
For athletes new to athletics, we offer “Run, Jump & Throw” and endurance-focused sessions:
Monday
- 4:30 – 5:30 pm: Ages 8–10 – Run, Jump & Throw
5:30 – 6:30 pm: Ages 9–11 – Run, Jump & Throw
6:30 – 8:00 pm: Ages 9–11 – Endurance Running
Tuesday

5:30 – 6:45 pm: Ages 10–12 – Run, Jump & Throw
6:45 – 8:00 pm: Ages 12–14 – Multi-Events
Thursday

4:30 – 5:30 pm: Ages 7–10 – Run, Jump & Throw
5:30 – 6:30 pm: Ages 9–11 – Run, Jump & Throw
Please note: some sessions currently have short waiting lists, but spots often become available quickly.

Competition-Ready & Event Groups
We no longer operate a general waiting list for advanced groups. Instead, entry is by invitation only, either via:

Progression from an Introductory group – based on consistent attendance and a willingness to compete (invited by lead coaches).

New Applicants with Proven Ability – athletes not yet in the club may be invited for a 2-week trial if they show strong results in:

parkruns, School competitions, at a previous club

To be considered after a successful trial, you should aim to:
• Train on both Mondays and Thursdays (or as agreed with the Lead Coach)
• Maintain over 80% attendance
• Compete regularly in league and club competitions

We also have our own club and inter-club events such as SuperSaturday and Future Stars.
